Facebook acquired Friend.ly, Q&A social service, that helps users learn more about their friends and meet new people. It will make a big impact on the way millions of people connect and engage with each other on Facebook.

Friend.ly is composed of a team of 10 people located in Mountain View, California. As a result of the acquisition, the Friend.ly team will be working on new projects at Facebook, but Friend.ly will remain open as a separate service. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. It raised $5 million in funding earlier this year from investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Balderton Capital, SoftTechVC and several angel investors.

Friend.ly offers you the ability to connect with others by asking and answering questions on its platform. After connecting your Facebook account to Q&A social service, you can answer questions about yourself, your Facebook Likes or your Facebook friends. You can also suggest a new question for the Friend.ly community to answer.
