Google announced that change in its privacy policy clearly states that it will combine information from signed-in users from one product to other Google products in order to show more relevant search results and ads. Under new Google privacy policy alert, Google can combine your information from one product account with your information from another Google account, as long as you’re signed in, that you will be viewed as a single user across all of Google’s products.
Google is reducing more than 70 privacy policies for all its products (e.g., search, YouTube, Gmail), down to one main simplified†easy-to-read policy as of March 1. This is another step by Google as it moves toward creating one beautifully simple, intuitive user experience across Google
Information collected by Google can include personal data such as photos, posts, and contact details, as well as activity such as your viewing habits on YouTube. The Google Policies and Principles page describes the privacy update as a move that tailors your search results based on information gathered from your activity on other Google products.
To alert users about the changes, Google plans to undertake its biggest notification effort ever via e-mail and announcements on its various sites
But critics said that it violated users’ privacy because when people posted on Google Plus, they did not know that the posts would show up in search results.
